Technopolis’ Coworking Space UMA Esplanadi Is Expanding Due to Customer Demand
Technopolis’ coworking space, UMA Esplanadi, is expanding only one year after its initial opening due to increased demand and customer feedback. UMA Esplandi is located in Stockmann’s Book Building in downtown Helsinki and the new extension will be opened on May 2, 2017. Furthermore, fully renovated UMA Workspaces will be opened in Jyväskylä in May and Kuopio in June.
The world of work is undergoing major changes. Smart jobs are less and less tied to a specific place or time and the working environment needs to adapt to this. Workspaces need to offer flexibility and efficiency but also a pleasant atmosphere and a sense of community. “Increasingly, workspaces offer companies a competitive advantage to attract the best talent. Our coworking spaces have been very popular especially among employees of bigger companies, for whom employers have wanted to provide more freedom and flexibility. In fall 2016, we conducted a customer satisfaction survey and UMA Workspaces received excellent results. The net promoter score (NPS) was as high as 71,” says Niko Pulli, Director of Services at Technopolis.
The new extension of UMA Esplanadi will consist of small private offices, meeting rooms and an open office area. “UMA Esplanadi has a great location and more serviced small offices have been requested there. Now their number is quadrupling and some of them have great views of Pohjoisesplanadi. We are responding to our customer’s changing demands with flexible space and versatile services so that they can focus on their core business,” says Pulli. At the moment there are well over 500 UMA members.
