Technopolis Recognized as One of the Sustainability Forerunners in Europe

Technopolis participated in the GRESB (Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark) survey for the fifth year in a row, received the full five stars and was again awarded the prestigious Green Star status. Technopolis improved its score and ranking compared to last year and was rated as the third best company in its European peer group. Technopolis was also ranked best for Resilience and third best for Health and Wellbeing.

GRESB assesses the sustainability performance of real estate and infrastructure portfolios and assets worldwide. “Our score improved in almost every category compared to last year, thanks to the continuous sustainability efforts throughout our operations,” says Anne-Maria Vierinen, Sustainability Manager at Technopolis. “During 2017, we updated our energy, water and carbon target setting to match recent updates to regulations, our ambition level and portfolio performance. One of the highlights of 2017 was that we were first in Finland to launch and complete the LEED Volume Program for Existing Buildings,” Vierinen continues.

In addition to Technopolis’ success in the GRESB survey, the company received the EPRA gold sBPR award for open and transparent data disclosure in its sustainability reporting.

“In the workspace sector, there’s a real focus on trying to maximize human potential, performance, and productivity. We are very happy to receive these awards as recognition for creating healthier workspaces. We offer our customers efficiency, sustainability and flexibility, but also a vibrant community of companies and people that enjoy working together in an environment that supports productivity and wellbeing,” says Keith Silverang, CEO of Technopolis.
