Moving to a new office adapted to their needs gave high presence on-site for Wästbygg Group
Six months after its relocation to new, specially adapted premises in the Technopolis Ullevi campus in Gothenburg, the contracting and project development company Wästbygg Group has evaluated its move. The results? Impressive results in both employee satisfaction and office attendance.
"Our goal with the move was to strengthen the staff's collaboration, exchange of knowledge and create a strong 'we feeling', and we have achieved that,” says Robin Sundin, COO at Wästbygg Group.
"The fact that office presence has increased since the move is also clear proof that together with Technopolis and KAKA architects we have succeeded in creating an attractive and functional work environment. The move is also an important investment in our future. The ambition was to offer a modern and sustainable workplace that attracts and engages employees, and that's what we achieved here."
Wästbygg Group had several reasons for moving to Technopolis' premises in Gårda. Through the collaboration with Technopolis, Wästbygg Group wanted to find premises adapted to their needs to strengthen their employer brand, facilitate collaboration between employees and create a workplace that supports their sustainability goals.
Technopolis LEED Gold certified premises in Gothenburg, with carbon-neutral electricity and access to charging stations for electric cars offered the solution. The location, the services and the possibility to adapt the premises were also important factors in their decision.
High employee satisfaction and office attendance
To measure the results, an internal survey was conducted which shows that over 90 percent of Wästbygg Group's employees are proud of their new workplace. In addition, almost half of the company's employees spend most of their working days in the office.
"An important aspect of promoting collaboration is making the office a pleasant place where you actually want to stay," says Johanna Bergendahl at Technopolis.
"In Wästbygg Group's new premises, which were designed in collaboration with KAKA Arkitekter, they have succeeded in creating a pleasant atmosphere that fosters collaboration and motivates employees to enjoy spending their time at the office.”
The survey also shows that over 70 percent of Wästbygg Group's employees experience an increased exchange of knowledge since the move. This can partly be attributed to the high office attendance, but also to the several areas in the new office promoting collaboration.
The different spaces in the office environment, designed for activities such as focused work, collaboration, meetings, and socializing, have also been appreciated by the employees. According to the survey, a clear majority also states that there are good opportunities to take spontaneous and undisturbed calls during a working day.
"We have strived to be responsive to Wästbygg Group's needs, which has yielded results. Seeing how the premises contribute to both comfort and collaboration is the best grade we can get," says Johanna Bergendahl at Technopolis.
