Detection Technology’s smart move: expanding within the same campus

"We needed larger premises to better accommodate hybrid work. Sustainability is at the core of our business, so we chose to renovate existing spaces instead of constructing new ones. This move within the Technopolis campus also allowed us to expand our manufacturing capabilities in Oulu. The location is ideal – we moved just 150 meters from our previous building. The entire project took only six months. It was a smart choice, saving us both time and money," says company’s CTO Jyrki Still.

Detection Technology's relocation next door proved advantageous, enhancing sustainability and achieving significant resource savings. With specific requirements for the new premises, Technopolis leveraged its extensive partner network to meet their needs swiftly. Detection Technology’s new facilities cover 2000m², encompassing production areas with a clean room, R&D laboratories, and office spaces.

"Given our specific requirements, including clean rooms and loading doors for transporting goods, Technopolis undertook a comprehensive reconstruction of the entire facility. In collaboration with Technopolis and their partners, we modernized our office spaces, including areas for quiet work, team collaboration, and specialized meeting rooms. In this project, we have greatly benefited from the extensive network of professionals that Technopolis offers," Still explains.

According to Still, Technopolis has been integral to the project, serving as the project manager and ensuring that the new facilities are completed on schedule. Communication throughout the renovation was seamless, with designated contacts providing support from the beginning to the end of the project.
