Tomra: the office space supports us in achieving our sustainability goals
Known for its innovative recycling and waste management technology, Tomra moved to a new office on Technopolis’ Aviapolis campus. When the company was choosing a new office space, sustainability, the variety of services and location were particularly important factors.

"We started looking for a new office space two years ago. The aim was to find a new, modern space that takes sustainability into account. One of our most important strategic goals is to be carbon-neutral by 2030. On the basis of these needs, we found a suitable office space at Technopolis Aviapolis," says Juri Ruohola, Tomra's Managing Director.

"Here, our office space is located across two floors, and every square metre is used efficiently. On the upper floor there are workspaces for employees, and on the lower floor there is a small storage space. Sustainability was taken into account in the move, which means that we chose a space that did not require major renovations. We were able to make use of the old materials that were already there in the office space. In addition, our sustainable choices included recycled desks, automatic lights and interior walls made of wood," Ruohola says.

Technopolis Aviapolis is carbon-neutral in its energy consumption, and the campus offers a popular restaurant, excellent exercise facilities and meeting rooms for every need. In addition, special attention has been paid to accessibility.
"We are very pleased with our new office space, as it supports our brand very well. Getting here by bicycle or public transport is easy, and electric cars can also be charged here," Ruohola says.
